Catherine Klemann Ferrell brings 51 years of sculpting to The Master's. Her work is a marvelous expression of the celebration of life!
I grew up in Florida fascinated by the world around us -- the wild and domestic and the lushness of forms and colors. An early encounter with stone carving at 13 led to a life of art -- sculpture being my passion.
College at University of Michigan, Florida Atlantic University, and graduate school at the University of Miami all focused on sculpture. Lots of traveling here and abroad allows me to keep learning. The people and adventures all fuel the work as new ideas come forth.
Each one us has his own body of work to do, and as long as we stay true to that, encourage one another along the way, and try to leave this place better off than we found it, it will work! I am incredibly grateful to be doing this and I hope each viewer will take away some understanding, some insight from the work, and it will contribute to the body of art.
The work has won major awards in national competitions and is found in collections here and abroad. I enjoy working on commissions and have seen the work go to West Germany and Norway as corporate pieces and private commissions. My home and studio are in Florida on the Indian River Lagoon."
