My art reflects a lifelong passion for nature that began during childhood while visiting my Grandparent's Wisconsin farm and later on the front range of Colorado.
With the encouragement from my parents, I had private painting lessons at the age of 13. In high school I was "asked" to paint an abstract which has been an unexpected source of inspiration many years later. Continuing my education at the Kansas City Art Institute, Colorado State University, and graduating from the Colorado Institute of Art in 1975 has given me a well rounded outlook.
Art has always been central to my being. The purpose of my existence is to express through art what God has created. My paintings reflect a love of what the Impressionists were attempting when painting plein air. Color and light are the foundations to my painting.
I maintain a studio in Loveland, Colorado, near the vistas I love. My work can be seen in private and corporate collections in America and abroad.
As Charles Adams said, "Paint what you feel, not what you see".
